Day 39

After reluctantly leaving Kristin's warm, cozy, spare bedroom, we were ready to head to Benton Harbor, MI.  It was a three state day.  Unfortunately for photo ops, we were on bike trails most of the day.  A small price to pay for smooth, beautiful riding.

It was an amazing day - perfect blue sky, not too hot, breeze blowing off Lake Michigan...

After SAG 2 our new friend Jason joined us for the rest of the day.  We decided to give him the full Sea to Sea experience, since he will be only joining us for the week.

1. Come around a corner to watch one of our esteemed fellow cyclists drop her drawers and take a whiz in front of us. Scarred for life.

2. Gradually slow down as the day wears on.  That shouldn't need any explaining.

3.  Get off the bike to buy cherries and eat lunch at a picnic table. Can you believe there are crazy cyclists (like the ones Jason spent his week with) who eat WHILE they ride? Ridiculous.

4. Catch up to the Sea to Sea's very own "rehydration specialists" 15km from camp. Find rehydration at local convenience store and enjoy it under a tree in a local park.  Follow the euphemisms, if you will.

5. Arrive at destination around 3:30 where Jason finds his tent already set up by the faster tent mate. This doesn't work if you tent alone.

The perfect Sea to Sea day.

  1. Sounds amazing! Glad some more good followed the bad.

  2. I could so do this if there were bike trails AND "rehydration stops" from sea to sea. ...Or maybe not.
